Infrastructure
The main
pieces of a Wireless Application protocol solution include
Content, Content Service, WAP Gateway, Bearer, Internet
Protocol - TCP/IP and WAP Device. WAP lets the phone
act as a simple web browser, but optimizes the markup
language, scripting language, and the transmission protocols
for wireless use. The optimized protocols are translated
to plain HTTP by a WAP Gateway. This gateway is utilised
to build a link between wireless networks and the internet.
